About
Spree to Bosphorus
RodMeister started DJing in 2010, in his first year at Istanbul Technical University: an older student showed him the basics, a controller at home did the rest. Armenian, born and raised in Turkey, he now plays between Berlin and Istanbul: indie dance, melodic techno, afro house and house, starting low and ending on one peak.
He has shared the stage with Damian Lazarus and Sébastien Léger. In 2017 he won the Magic Break DJ contest, played the Magic Break festival that followed, and came second at Radio Boğaziçi's Battle of the DJs.
In Istanbul he has played Glow, Klein Flamme, Kiki and Suma Beach. In Berlin he has played Christa Kupfer and a live set at Das Institut (April 2024), and he plays private and corporate events regularly. His mixes are on SoundCloud.
Bars, clubs, private events, radio: he adjusts the arc of each set to the room, with a warm, rhythmic opening, then melody and tension toward the peak.
Why the dot
The dot on the i is the Peak Dot. Every set has one peak, and it's the point the whole night builds toward. It also nods to Turkish, where the i comes in two forms: dotted i and dotless ı. Two cities, two alphabets, one dot. On this site it flies to the player when you press Listen.
Your night, his set
